Mommy photo challenge!

Mommy photo challenge!

Why a mommy photo challenge? This is why …

When I get a call for a newborn session I always try to get the whole family involved in the photo shoot.  The response I usually get from all the moms is “I’m not ready to be photographed” or “Don’t worry about me, I just want photos of my baby” or “I’ll wait until my baby is one to get into the photos”.

I know that right after having my children, I didn’t look how I wanted to look.  I was carrying about 30 lbs. of extra weight and I was so tired.  I tried to get in front of the camera for some photos with my children and I wish I did it more than I actually did.  I realized now that it really didn’t matter how I looked.  When my children look back at the photos we did take together they look at them with love and admiration and are happy to have had photos taken with me when they were just babies.  Let’s face it, all kids think their moms are beautiful, and they are RIGHT!

Lisa wasn’t any different than any other mom who preferred not to have her photo taken soon after her twins were born.  I had to do some convincing and it was a challenge.  I promised her that she would look great in the photos.  I gave Lisa some little advice that would give great result.  Want to know what it was? Get your hair and make up done professionally!  That morning, Lisa left her children at home with her amazing husband and went off to get her hair and make up done for the session. She looked great!

The Results

Once I was finished with editing the photos, I sent Lisa her password for her private online gallery. That same day, I received a beautiful email from Lisa thanking me for giving her that push she needed to be in the photos! I was so happy that she loved the photos especially the photos of her with her babies.

I challenge all the mommies to get in the photo too!

This Mother’s day, don’t be the one behind the camera. Have your photo taken with your children because Mommy is important too!
